THE QUILT OF PRECIOUS TIES

I watched them come
and I watched them go.
The once that made me happy.
The once that made me low.

Through the years of chillin' bones
I made a quilt of precious ties.
But the quilt was made undone
as they left with all their lies.

I've learned the lesson - nothing lasts.
Still I long for eternal symbiosis.
I walk these cold, cold corridors
of memories both bold and anxious.

Now I have met a soul of gold.
Once more I see the light of day.
Someone sweet came my way.
Oh, how I wish you'll stay!
