I love this little girl. Can you see her? Look closely. You might know her.
Maggie McMolly
Maggie McMolly loves to ride the trolley
From here to there, going everywhere
She's green of eye and red of hair
Curls that spiral without a care
Freckles and speckles that adorn her face
She loves to wrestle the boys and race
Full of mischief with a pixie grin
She's nearly nine, going on ten
Dolls are not her choice of toys
She rather play with the neighborhood boys
With skinned up knees and dirt on her hands
She often plays in mud and sand
If you see her in a skirt or dress
It's because her momma made her wear her best
But in the wink of and eye and a flick of a fly
She's back to the girl in here dungaree style
All she is, and forever will be,
Is the girl who lives inside of me
