seek

a silence waiting
shadows talking
in days searching

seek my rough scars
ask my name
as the broken sentence mends

oh gosh, this is visual poetry too. Wonderful poetry Kath.
I get lost in it and enjoy my wanderings.

I cannot help adding two powerful associations to line 4: Jesus telling Thomas to feel his wounds, and--somewhat contrarily--a favorite saying of Thomas Jefferson's: "Take every job by the smooth handle"--based I think on the fact that the wood handles of hand-held farm implements wore smooth at the best gripping places; meaning that one ought not do things the hard way. Such a rich, rich line of poetry that really is.

"seek my rough scars"--an awesome line in a strikingly beautiful text.
