for you Cindymac and for the boys.

For Digger (inspired by Wee2Soul)

Little Digger

how we loved you

all wrapped up in your soft fur

You took our hearts and made us happy

The world is much better because you were

in our lives for just a moment

but in that time we had

you made us see the joy of friendship

you made us feel so very glad

But now dear Digger we must say goodbye

but for just a little while

for in the blink of an eye

and a spread of a smile

across the spiritual miles

to be with you in Heaven's playground

With Jesus at our side.

There we'll all be in a joyful place

where death cannot erase our peace

For in the arms of Jesus we're together

playing where love will never cease.

Phyllis J. Rhodes
Oh how tenderly sweet and touching. I remember when I was barely 4 and my big brother Nelson came in the house one morning crying. I had never seen a six foot "man" (he was a teenager) cry before. But when he told us old Tip had been run over by a car and swore to kill the man who did it, I understood the tears and wanted to help him take revenge. Even when we don't intend for it to happen, animals find places in our hearts to steal and we are often shocked how much of it they own when they are taken from us.
