grrrrrrrrrr...screw drivers, pliers, screws, metal, files, and piles make for a frustrating afternoon at the Lockhart abode. The unevenness of this is just how it felt. "Hold on tight, it's gonna be a bumpy ride"

Damnation! A Calamity Creation

oh you horrible file folder holder
you made me lose my composure
while trying to put you together
I would rather have root canal

and how in the heck did i get this ache in my neck
just by trying to assemble your frame
Satan is your name; I hate you just the same
I am a right brain thinker, wordsmith tinker
not some assembly left brain connector
it's the genetic factor that holds me in its grip
while i rip this thing apart

why did i ever start

organization is not for me
I am a free floating apparition you see
not here in the world of concrete
never really holding a seat

airy, fairy me

but it's this paper that annoys me
collecting in its piles
stack for miles and miles
and then tumbling to the floor
what a bore I abhor filing
I am not smiling at this predicament
I rather rake the sediment from a cavernous well
and send this paperwork to hell
where it belongs

this load is getting so strong
so i will put it in a sack
and carry it heavy on my back
to the funeral pyre
and set the damned thing on fire
and watch in glee
as it turns to ash you see
and i shall bury it in the ground
along with the rest of the pounds
of unorganized dementia

and then maybe, just maybe
I might find the desk under that unholy mess

Nice adaptation of form to content, as the intro notes--a good lesson!

Hi Kathy...know just how you feel....but I must ask, why in heavens name, when we are in the 21st century, the century
of Digital, are you still filing paper???

Good poem...your frustration comes across well...now we have
to cure you...
