written for my Sweetheart who kisses my tears away.
i take poetic license in creating new words. : )
A Tale of Kisses
Somewhere along the way of trav'ling along this road
I stumbled and I fell and kissed a hopping toad
Well the toad it never changed from warter to a prince
It metaphorized itself into a husband-grinch.
Grouchy, green, and greedy he never became much more
Than a toadish mutant who slithered along the floor
I dealt with all his bother and endured his monster fits
Until at last I had enough and left him in his pit.
I packed my little bag and got back on that road
Determined not to stumble, kiss nary frog nor toad
But as I grew weary and found a place to rest
A poet of a hero gave me a welcomed kiss.
Never did I ever expect more than a smile
From such a gentle man who crossed my path this mile
But when the kisses came and love became so true
I knew I'd found my prince in this poetry man--you!
