INNOCENCE SWEET

Oh, this is just a magnificent place.
I can't recognise a single human face.
Their eyes are black, as night, as coal.
As deep as dead as a graveyard hole.

I'm scared to be trapped in this strange, strange place.
It's easy to get lost in a hostile maze.
Oh, help me out, won't you please?
Before I too catch that deadly disease.

Something is familiar in the way they walk.
In the way they kill, their abscence of talk.
And yesterday I saw the shadow of you,
but the shadow seemed infected too.

I miss my pals, my human friends.
But it's hard to make such a big amends.
They have changed to values cold,
their souls are to the devil sold.

Where have you gone, innocence sweet?
Please do tell me where we can meet!
It's been so long since I felt your touch.
I don't think it's asking too much.
