Today...
Today I wrote you a letterUsing only the most illustriously phrased statements
And utterly beautiful metaphor
But I never sent it
Afterwards I constructed the most perfect email message
Absolutely packed full of the most amazing allusions to your beauty
That I've ever constructed
And didn't finish it
I tried to write a haiku for you
Just the simplest structure of sentences possible to encapsulate you
And I couldn't
Mere words defy the very definition of you
And I've been scratching the ends of my imagination to exactly place you
But I have yet to find the correct verse
Just the right paragraph
To perfectly state you
Place you on that pedestal I've envisioned in so many moments of shared stares
And secret smiles
But this, as I've found, is a most insurmountable task
As there is no single sentence to sum you up
And so I stop trying and simply soak your essence
Even if only from afar
For just a minute longer...
Wait,
I may have it now...
