I have never felt such a deep, complete, fulfilling emotion as this love I have received and given to the man I adore--my first and my last romantic hero.
How Do I Explain It?
How do I explain this love
That fills my every pore
Which formed me from the ashes
Once abandoned at death's door?
I was just dust
Beneath the feet of neglect and despair
Gasping for breath, dying in stagnant air.
Then a breeze of love gently past my way
Drifting across the ocean,
Through poetry, on a bay.
And from the words of a man,
Whose heart was tender with care,
I felt the truth of love
I never realized was there.
Each word that was spoken
Was a message from the start.
I was like a broken bird
He lifted and placed close to his heart.
Now I am singing, flying, renewed, and free
Shaking off the dust that once was only me.
From ashes, like the Phoenix, I arose
Complete and whole
Because of this man who loves me
From deep within his soul.
So precious to my heart
Is this love that we share.
How do I explain it?
It's simply,
Infinitely
There.
