2008
We watch the snow fall -'babe its so cold for your southern girl'
we stand beneath the skylight
watching stars fall
you holding me
and then I start to cry
because its another year
and all the old insecurities
I thought I shed are there
playing charades
miming, is it a film
or a stage play
or just me
playing yesterday
until I feel your arms
and the cacophany of sound
is surround
and we blow out the candles
wish the New Year goodnight
and listen to the guy
try to start his truck at dawn
