Voided Day

Floating lavender clouds grace
These layers high, slipping slowly
Toward the reddening end
Of this day's attempt at light,

Reflecting this deepest ocean
Swaying with swells and whitecaps
And totally meaningless motion
Shadowing gaping voids so dark.

As if the cold damp Earth
Split into fissures and rivers
Far too wide to cross alone,
On this the darkest of nights.

The imagery of those lavender clouds for company gave this dark poem great light. Very nice work, thank you for sharing it, smiling at you, a little lighter Tai
