Mask

Looking at a mirror
She sees a smile smiling back at her.
If there's a mirror to reflect the inside
It's a dead soul you'll see.

Look at her make up
It's a mask she wears
Who are the people she meeting?
What mask should she wear today?

She has to look happy
Not a tear should be seen
No one has to know what shes feeling
Under the mask she's going to wear.

Her mask is ready
Not one tear fell from those eyes
She's now ready to party
While she lets her tears break her down inside.

I like the directness and strength of this very much, including the opening stanza'sharp contrast between what she sees, and what would be seen in that other mirror...

PS: Lines 7 and 11 need "she's," as in line 12.
