Memoirs of God and Me

Remember

You let me fall, Lord, from a tree
when I was small; too small to see --
remember?
You let me almost drown one day
when I was merely out to play
remember?
You let me share a kiss so sweet
when I was young and not in need
remember?
You let me make my own mistakes
when I unravelled truths from fakes
remember?
Yet, Lord, You let me still survive
with scars and injuries I strive
remember!

please let me drink, Lord, from your well
from Life itself -- let memories swell
remembrance
of figs and wheat and wine and bread;
of olive oil and honey spread
remember:
I am your child formed from your More
from sacred breath you mouthed my core
remember?

Myra, you are beautiful!!! You have to be to pour out your heart like this for all to read. A tear fell as I read and I was reminded from whence I came!!!! Thank you sweet Myra! ~Laura

It's a lovely little prayer. I too wrote one such poem remembering my experiences of younger years. I must find it and post it one of these days.

a beautiful piece of poetry here - all the times of our lives, the joys, the pains, from ages old when young, to now, there lives the light.
