Hidden

I peel your covers so that I can
pry open the enigma
you carefully treasure in you.
I sharpen my sight,
stoke the fire in it,
with an insatiable zeal
for peering down into
the core of the lure
that you hide in you.
I set out to plod
through the foliage.
I lift the curtain,
but each time as I drop it,
I wonder
what colour the flower is
behind the opaqueness of the curtain;
what face it has and what fragrance !
I strive to listen to the music there,
get beguiled by the drama of my mind,
passionately I strive to sneak into you.

Neelima
A woman is a closed flower bud. Very mysterious. Beautifully expressed. I love the double play/picture of words.

You express very beautifully this longing to enter a person's mind, this desire to explore, to know her completely.
A very intense poem, where an atmosphere is created out of thoughts, feelings, gazes, lights and shadows.
I definitely enjoyed reading it.
