This artist, Guillermo Vargas (Costa Rica), tied up a dog and let it die, in a museum. This is my protest poem, an ode to Art.
And watch me die
For your pleasure
A dog on a lead
A mongrel, a stray
This isn't TV
This is a life
This isn't Art
This is a death
No water
No food
The artist is chained up
Let's watch him die
And drink wine
And eat hors d'oeuvres
At the exhibition
Let's watch him die
A slow death
No water
No food
Won't anyone help?
So inhumane
This treatment
An artist
Starving for attention.
