Hope For Sanity of Not Having Any

Can I trade my hope for your sanity of not having any?

Is it a crime?
Is it a sin?
To want hopelessness
Instead of hope
To want an end
Instead of a beginning
Is it a crime?
Is it a sin?

Tape these wings down
They're trying to fly
Sew this mouth shut
Logic it does deny

I've scribbled over the truth
Lies ink my pen
Can you tell me
Where is innocence in youth?

Can I trade my hope for your sanity of not having any?

Hopeless
Instead of hopeful
An ending
Instead of a beginning

Render me hopeless
Render me sane
All this hope I keep
It's all in vain

Clip the wings, it's dreaming it flies
Sew the lips, the truth it denies
Stop the heart, the hope it supplies

Shackle these feet into the ground
They yearn to run
Bind me, blind me, forever jade me
Sink my golden sun

Let me trade my hope
For your sanity
Of not having any
