dedicated to someone special in my life that has passed on.
and dedicated to anyone that has lost a loved one... it hurts.
the wind howls and mocks her as she struggles on
the leaves, seemingly teasing her, blocking her path
she was in her own world, her thoughts never deterred
she was a girl, a woman, a teen, on a mission
the darkness surrounded her like a cold winters night
in times of normality, she would have felt strangled, trapped
as nature screamed at her, with all its will, to stop
she would not give up, her mind abandoning all else
her hair flapping wildly in the strong breeze, as dark as night itself
'further, a little further' the trees seemed to whisper
almost there, she peers ahead
the entrance, the gates, to his world
the leaves swirl round her, fighting to take flight
the colors of red and orange fade away
rows and rows she does pass
one name is on her mind, the memories fresh
the ground beneath her sighs with relief as she stops, kneeling down
Larry O'Toole. 1990-2007.
her silent tears of grief fall again, once again
her heart filled with a love so strong, so true
as the world around her moved on
she stood still, her heart so heavy with grief
she lay on the ground, the wind still howling
her life, her mundane, simple life
it's nothing without him, nothing without what they had
and as her world stood still
mother nature tried to heal
heal her broken heart, let her feel love once more
the love they had, the bonds they grew strong
death separates in body and in touch
but even death, in its worst of forms
could not take away or separate them
for mind and soul forever will remain as one
i love you and i will, never, ever forget you.
forgive me for trying to move on.
