Tenderness of the Kiss
Kiss of life
Kiss of love
Kiss of death
Kiss of resurrection
Kisses are the tender expression
Of love between two souls
United by their affection for each other.
Kisses are the tenderness
That is felt but cannot be expressed in words.
Only when two lips meet, is the tenderness
Transferred and implanted to grow
Deep roots of undying love.
My lips now are dampened with tears
That flow from these eyes
Viewing the world in sadness.
My lips are pursed for kisses
That will never come again
From the heart of the man I love.
These lips are aching for the touch
Of gentle kisses, delicate and fine
Then firm and passionate.
But there are no lips that can replace your lips.
Your lips on my lips;
Your hands holding my hands;
Our bodies touching and yearning for union;
Only emptiness remains.
The air of the lost is all that's left
Between us now.
The empty space of separation
Grows as time passes
Until there is nothing
But caverns of memories,
Though hallowed be,
Still echo the desires
Of two lonesome souls,
Flying through the universe,
Searching again
For the kiss
Of
Resurrection.
