In The Shadow Of Light

In the shadow of light I saw
your arm with marks.
I tired to deny I saw them there.
I never asked and I didn't wonder why?

I thought they were marks from another
way.
I didn't see they were your marks of pain.
Why do you want to hurt and mark your body
of evil ways?

You tried to deny and put up a fuss that these
marks.are not by you.
You once said I would never be hurt by the mark
of a knife.
You cried when you saw your friend with the pain
of this mark.

Now you hurt yourself the same, but not a tear
falls from your eyes, when you leave this scar
upon your arm.

You close your eyes and think of away to harm
the little innocent child inside yourself.
You feel the pain and it gives you glory to find.
The thrill of it all and then it is done.
The mark will be forever with you.
The tears will always follow.
You will always try to find that pain to glory.

As a mother to her daughter seek and find yourself
and let your pain fly away into the glory of love.
Love will find you just let it in and you will see,
to love yourself is the only way of being pain without.
God gives us life to be whole and to find happiness
not to cut or kill our bodies of love.

Today has come and gone with another cut.
Tomorrow will follow to show another upon
your arm.
When will it stop,
when your whole body is scarred and you become
out of control.
I sit in my room wondering why,
do you seek this pain?
Tears fall from these eyes, asking what have I done
to make you seek this pain
