This is dedicated to my grandpa - Jimmy

to have the time over again...

I wasn't there for you
wish I'd known what to do
So I could of said something
signifigant to your living

To this day I know hardly anything
That you battled through while living
I wasn't there for you
never knew what to do
I never though of saying farewell
and having everything so final

I regret that I never let you know
Never thought about having to let you go
This depth of love I felt for you
that I'll carry my whole life through

I wish I'd been old enough to ask
questions to have your life unmasked
To this day I hardly know anything
that you'd survived while living

Helen, this has such a soft and sincere flow and feeling to it. I can identify with the longing to know more about those who've gone on before. A touching and beautiful sentimental poem.
