Just wrote this one a couple of weeks ago after talking with a man about the country roads where we both grew up. I hope that ya'll like it.
Those roads from my childhood are the ones I remember.
I kept hoping to find one to take me far away—someday.
Eventually, I found it. What a pity! It dropped me off in that big ole city.
Now—I'm looking for another country road to take me back home again.
Because I know now that it is those city streets that lead nowhere.
Those country roads that seemingly run nowhere are really going everywhere.
They are the ones I long to cruise again someday.

Country Roads
Country roads running East, West, North and South—yet going nowhere.
