What should she have said?...
she sat and stared
at the ring on her finger, thinking
about the life that now
lay ahead of her.
She studied each
gleaming facet, hoping she'd
made the right choice. The life she
envisioned for herself
was not perfect--unlike
the diamond that glittered before
her--but she prayed it
would bring her as much
happiness
as she'd seen flooding his eyes
when he'd heard her whisper
"Yes".

Diamond
For hours after he leftshe sat and stared
at the ring on her finger, thinking
about the life that now

was not perfect--unlike
