One more day in the city . ..

The scream, the scream of unbearable pain
filled the air after the motorbike smashed
on the ground and the wheels were spinning
around.

A hand gently held my heart
so it would not scatter

filling the air with pieces
of my broken heart.

Around the two teenagers
people gathered, my assistance
was not needed but I saw how
the girls' legs were shaking. . .

I went through the forest
and the old trees transformed
into human bodies with long white
ungroomed  hair

standing there, just standing and I
I become a droplet . . .

rested for a while
on the youngest leaf . .
.

Trauma and solace beautifully represented here. Like a screech and a trill to the ear, these images bring such contrasts to the mind and spirit.

when we see such trauma, we need a place of refuge, a safe place to gather ourselves. I loved the vivid imagery! :) kathy
