Haltingly spoken, a little bit broken...long has it been since such fears were awoken.
no matter what you tell me. So put your fears aside;
let down your inhibitions and say what you have to say.
I haven't always been here, but for now I'm here to stay.
So you better start believing me and swallowing your pride,
because now's the time for you to see that I won't go away,
when you need me. You know I love you; I think each day
of the times you wouldn't let me help you when you cried.
Please, let down your inhibitions; say what you have to say
even if you think it will hurt me, as it very likely may---
we both know I'm a weakling. But my love has never died
and the time has come for you to see that I won't go away
and leave you all alone, where with broken backs we lay
that one purple afternoon; here, on this mountainside
where I let down my inhibitions and said what I had to say
to make you listen. But now it's your turn to relay
the darkness in your soul that you're reluctant to confide.
The time has come for you to see that I won't go away;
let down your inhibitions and say what you need to say.
