So many of us suffer bouts of depression. I believe it comes with the territory of being creative. When I make myself face the Good News I always get better. I see more clearly and my perspective rights itself.
and crying comes so quick
when you find no comfort
and your mind seems sick
When thoughts seem thoughless
when they fly through your mind
when you cannot put them together
and make sense of any kind
When you fear the next hour
for you know not what it brings
when you've lost all control
and hope has taken wings
Sit down for a while
sit down in a quiet place
breathe slow and deeply
and think about God's grace
Think about his love for you
And how it never fails
Think about His mercy
Then think about those nails
That were driven into Jesus' hands
And the spike into his feet
Think about the reason for that
While you ponder on that seat
God's love for you laid the plan
that sent his son to die
so that you could live eternally
and freed from reasons to cry
As long as you are on this earth
there will be troubles that's true
but you are not alone with them
God will see you through
It hurts Him to see you cry
That's why He created Heaven
so when you finally leave this world
There's a paradise you can live in
Understand you must accept
What Jesus did on that cross
He died to pay for all your sins
He found you when you were lost
And then three days later
he arose from the dead
And if you accept this act
death won't keep you, you'll have life instead
These truths held and believed
Can conquer depression and woe
Because we see they aren't to stay
They are here to pass and go
When we think eternally
We see life on earth in perspective
Whatever we face in this life
Is temporary and ineffective
