one almost feels guilty telling this story...
Standing near the harbor
Looking out across the bay
I saw two ships departing soon
I knew I could not stay
I ran to the docks fast as I could
And looked round for the sign
That'd say which ship was headed where
And which one would be mine
"Departing now for the brave frontier
Around the west coast's bend
Sure bet of riches and the love
Of a small town girls' best friend
Settle down to a fam'ly and kids
You'll a live a life of peace
You'll sit in the rain by the fireside
Cuddling warm 'neath a quilt of fleece"
Well that sounds amazing I said with great joy
As I ran for the plank at full speed
But catching my eye was a lavish red sign
It just beckoned my eye to take heed
"Departing quite soon to no real destination
Leaving whenever to no real location
Headed for love with few limitations
And the risks out weigh the gains
Do you not long for calm heady discussions
With Chinese and British and even some Russians
Internationally said to have no repercussions
Don't let yourself lie in chains
I stood there quiet with head in hands
waiting for fate to decide
To take a safe journey to a nearby land
or set sail for a wild ride
So I hopped on the ship no real hesitation
I had finally made the decision
As the other boat quickly dissolved into mist
My thoughts clouded by its promised vision
So never I'll know what the other life holds
I shall sail with this boat till the last
But one gets to wondering at a dreary cold port
What It's like tied to the other mast

life has many roads, yes?

And which one would be mine
