She is also an artist and poet who has posted some of her work on the bay.
Valerie
There she comes, walking talllong legs striding, carrying a ball
Look at her, her dark hair in braids
Head held high she's not afraid
Her uniform shows her perfect form
So young, so fit, so ready to perform
She's close now and you can see
The beautiful face, blimish free
Her skin of olive tanned so dark
speak of summer days in the park
Her huge dark eyes with glints of green
And long thick lashes quickly seen
along with the tip of her perfect nose
accompany full lips pink as a rose
When she smiles her face alights
To reveals dimples and teeth so white
Her regal look quickly transforms
As she takes her place ready to perform
Across the net the volly ball flies
To the floor the athlete dives
Somehow she's there and digs out a save
And her team gets a point to the crowds rave
At the net she stands tall and ready
The ball comes across hard but she is steady
At just the right time she jumps up high
And blocks the ball and a point deny
The opponents cringe and take a time out
They must figure out how to stop this rout
The crowd watches her as she moves around
She's quick like a tiger tightly wound
Before the game's over she's awed you and me
I see it all the time from Miss Valerie
