According to Readers Digest a clerihew is a four-line poem, rhyming aabb, about a celebrity named in the first line. As for the meter? Anything goes.
Here are four examples

Clerihew: A New Kind Of Poetry (for me)

My beloved Paul Newman has died
When I heard the news I cried
A heart throb for 50 years
And a good man above all peers

Barack Hussien Obama
is not the terrorist Usama
But he's friends with William Ayers
Though it seems nobody cares

Senator John McCain
said get rid of Saddam Hussien
So after the rat was found
He said, I don't like him hanging around.

Johnny Depp plays Captain Jack
who gets banished but always comes back
And with his flamboyant ways
Its Johnny Depp whom Captain Jack plays

I enjoyed this one. It will be fun to try and come up with some of my own. This could be a challenge if anybody still wants to do them. I especially loved the first and last stanzas because well you know why. ; )
