Hope, For The Fight That Remains
People ask her if it happenedShe knows it did, and she doesn't deny it
But every time someone asks her
She finds it so hard to say yes
When someone asks her
she feels like she's dying inside
She feels the colour drain from her face
Her heart jumps in her throat
She feels the tears well up in her eyes
But she denies them exit
To say yes takes up all her strength, and even more so not to cry
Once she says that three letter word
All the memories come rushing back
All she wants to do is collapse to the ground
And cry till there's no more tears left in her
But no, she will not do that
She will not allow her past to win
She will not allow that monster to win
The monster who haunts her memories
Who haunts her very soul
No more
It ends now
It happened, but its not happening anymore
No more will she feel fear when admitting it
She was the one her took down that monster
And now she will do the same to her memories
Stand and face them
No crying
No running
No more
