Could I tell You Something

Could I tell you something?
Are you ready to listen to what I have to say?
Could you just open one ear
And try understand what I'm going to say?

It's useless telling me that you care
When in the moment I really need you you're never here.
It's useless telling me that you missed me
When you never message to see how I am.

Could you tell me what you mean
By the words you tell me every time we meet?
"I'm here if you need me any time everday
24/7 just for you"

I never got to understand that,
I ask for your help
I get it sometime later
Maybe after a week.

Is it just a phrase you like to use?
Did I misunderstand?
Could you tell me what it really means?
So maybe I'll understand.
