today is the day history will be made no matter who wins the presidency. I choose not to reveal my candidate in order to keep politics out of it all.
Is that possible? : )

A Voter's View

I sit and watch the votes come in
and I struggle with what may be.
I did my duty; my pleasure it was
to be part of the home of the free.

And while I wait, anticipate
I pray my candidate will succeed.
For in my mind, he is the kind
who'll be just what my country needs.

But in the end, what e'er may come,
I will continue to pray.
For the president, no matter his name,
will need God's help every day.

Wise and well expressed, Kathy, on this historic day!
A whole world's hopes and expectations are a heavy burden to carry. Far too heavy for a single man. May all good forces give him help and support!

John Lambremont, Sr.
I love the simplicity of the language. A child's prayer for adults.

I had to vote
sooner or later
but the choices did blow
so I voted for Nader...

Good poem. Yes he will need prayer and lots of it. What a surprise the first black president. This will be a world spinner. Well well well. I wonder how long he will last being black not that I am against blacks. I don't care what colour they are but I know some will. What a mind bender that is.

I truly enjoyed your write, but I suspect the one that will win won't even pray for himself. He doesn't salute the flag and yet people are voting for him to lead the people of the country for which the flag represents. How do they think that he can truly be president? I for one will never call him President just as I never did Billy boy the playboy Clinton. I guess it isn't to hard to figure out that I voted for McCain, and I don't care who knows it.
