This is a true story about a restaurant in a town near where we live. It always takes a long time to get served on Sunday when we go there. Sunday is the only day that I have ever eaten there, it may or may not be the same on other days.

The Rambler

Yesterday, Sunday, November 2nd, 2008, we--my wife, my daughter, my Grandson and I went to the Rambler café in Rosebud, Arkansas. We bragged to our Grandson about how good the food there is. We told him the bad thing about going there is they are slow about getting the food out to the customers. We needed to be in Clinton by 2:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter. When we got there we put our order in fairly quickly then we waited and
waited. I thought, "I knew we should have gone somewhere else today." We waited some more and didn't complain, but that doesn't mean that I wasn't getting aggravated.

We had been there about an hour when we finally got refills on our drinks for the first time and our appetizers. We ate the appetizers and waited some more. About 2:00 o'clock, when we were supposed to be in Clinton we still hadn't been waited on, but I did see them bring an order out to some customers that only came in about 15 minutes earlier. I thought, "Wait a minute. People that have only been here 15 minutes are getting their food, but we have been here an hour and a half and are still waiting. Now what is fair about that?" I told my wife, "Lets go!" I said, "It is time to leave," and that is what we did. We had already been talking about leaving. She didn't see when those people came in like I did. We paid for the appetizers and drinks and swore we will never go back again. Still if you have a few hours to kill and want a great tasting meal The Rambler café is the place to go if you live in or near Rosebud, Arkansas. My family and I just don't have that much time to kill and I will go somewhere else from now on when we want to eat out.

We stopped in Quitman about 10 miles away, but on our way to Clinton and bought burgers to eat while on the way. It was right at 3:00 o'clock before we got to Clinton. We were almost an hour late getting there, and they had just pushed making us wait to far that time. An hour and a half is to long to have to wait for food at any restaurant.
