Then Came You(Revised)
Then Came You
I thought that my chance for true love had sailed.
It seemed that a life of mediocrity prevailed.
I just went though the motions, I would only just get by.
At night I'd go to bed alone with tear drops in my eye.
Then came you.
You turned my life around.
Then came you.
You made a smile out of my frown.
You gave my life new meaning,
Darlin', you know that is true.
My life was less than happy,
Then came you.
I tried to keep a happy front. Fooled everyone around.
I'd laugh and joke all the time but, in reality, was down.
The role that I was playing was an oscar-winning part.
It seemed I was destined for a sad and broken heart.
Then came you.
You made my heart smile.
Then came you.
You made my life worthwhile.
The love that I am feeling
Was so long overdue.
I thought I knew what love was.
Then came you.
Late at night I'd sit alone and have another cry.
Each day I spent in loneliness, a little more of me would die.
Never thought it would happen. How did it begin?
I am having feelings I never thought I'd feel again.
Then came you.
You got me walking on the air.
Then came you.
There is no one to compare.
Your sweetness and your beauty
Take my breath away.
I so believe a love that's true.
Is the answer to my prayer.
Then came you.
