As we leave the old year and enter the new one what are our feelings at what is happening in the world?
With a crash, flash and a bang
As the New Year bells rang
Fireworks lit up the sky
The evening turned into morning
But still the question is why?
For there is still fighting and bloodshed
Each time that you hear the news
Or read in the new papers every day.
About leaders with different views
But the victims are in the same boat
Men, women, kids, young and old
Homes are lost and families all gone
With more orphans left out in the cold.
Each New Year we do the same thing
All singing of Auld Lang Syne
Praying that this year there'll be world peace
For all kith and kin, yours and mine.
