And She Was Free At Last
She looks up at the tiny lightsIn the night sky
She thinks of all the fights
With that one special guy
She tries to think of happy things
She tries so hard
But all it brings
Is memories of her heart playing the wrong card
She gives up trying
And across the yard she went
In the silence she starts crying
About all the words she never meant
She wants to forgive all he's said and done
Deep down inside her heart
But something pulled her away from the rising sun
And back into the darkness that tore her soul apart
-----------
She sits alone in the cold dark room
And thinks to herself
"This all will be over soon,
I won't do this to myself"
She gets up off the damp, hard floor
The chains of the shackles in her hands
She runs for the tall, black door
"I want out of this!" she demands
"Im sorry, but you can't come out"
A deep voice booms
And with those words
She started to shout
"I no longer want to be like this!"
"I no longer want to be sad"
"The memories and the guy no longer exsist!"
"I no longer care about what I once had!"
"It means nothing now!"
"Because he's not even here!"
"All of this I avow"
And her voice suddenly turns sincere
"It doesn't matter anymore"
"Because that is past, and this is present"
"Nothing now is like before"
"I won't be someone who depresstion will represent"
"Now I ask with all of my heart"
"That you will open these doors"
"So I can depart"
"And so that the dark is all your's"
And with that
The door opened
And she was free at last
