Moshe Menuhin
Shame on you Israel
Shame on you Israel
for not listening to your neighbours,
you did not give them the courtesy
the whole world once gave to you.
When Yehudi Menuhin in 1991
spoke at Knesset you did not listen,
you did not hear the suffering moans
as you stocked the fire
with more children and women,
the Jewish cause blinded you
and your arrogance
fed a feeling of superiority
creating them and you.
Shame on you Israel
for starving young children
born on your land,
for executing their parents
and turning your face from the squalor,
for stealing and raping a people
that actually is related to you,
for keeping all the milk and honey
just for yourself
and erasing all sympathy
the world once bestowed upon you
when you were down
and your numbers counted.
Shame on you Israel
for dividing
what should have been whole,
for treating your Semite brothers
like dogs or worse,
for not taking the opportunity
to shine as the great tribe
you aspire to be
with wisdom and benevolence
as your guiding star.
And shame on you America
that sanctions the carnage
and legitimizes murder and pillaging
in the name of what?
