Rhyme Royal Challenge
Write a poem in the form of a "rhyme royal", which is a seven line stanza with the rhyme scheme: ababbcc. It is most often written in iambic pentameter, but not always, and there is no limit to the number of stanzas: it may be one, or as many as you like. Here, as an example, is the first stanza of Resolution and Independence, by William Wordsworth:
There was a roaring in the wind all night;
The rain came heavily and fell in floods;
But now the sun is rising calm and bright;
The birds are singing in the distant woods;
Over his own sweet voice the Stock-dove broods;
The Jay makes answer as the Magpie chatters;
And all the air is filled with pleasant noise of waters.
