Unable to speak
I was happy when the music played,I imagined the future and how well I would treat you.
Although I hardly knew you,
you spoke to me without words,
and I thought I understood.
And I told the world that you and I share the same blood.
You and I are as one.
I should have known!
You looked nothing like the rest of us.
Yet you melted my heart,
because you did not say a word.
