Chinese. Revered ones, I call them.
Old, wrinkly, and white on top,
if not bare in certain spots.
Most of the time,
they slouch or are perpetually hunched over
their canes and purses.
She takes her time loading her clothes
into
the washer
and then
proceeds to search
her pockets
for quarters, only to find lint
and other random things
until her husband comes and brings the right amount of change.
