Great Expectations

I feel their eyes on me
as I enter the room.
Coming through the door-
way, their expectation
of my arrival is
suffocating.
Their eyes take me in,
scanning me from head
to toe, summing me
up in less than 10 seconds.
I wonder what they wonder
about me.
"Does she fit in here?"
"Does she belong
with him?"

This is a great take on peoples first impressions, they usually stick even though they have no idea who you really are, you demonstrate the miriad of thoughts and emotions that come from just a glance by humanity

Great Expectations are nearly always dissappointed.

Smiling at you
