I realized lately that we so often ignore the simple things in life which can change a lot of twists...
After reading this, just hug someone you were angry with and see the difference....
Have a great day;-)

Simple things

The simple things in life that do not cost a thing
Makes a big difference if uncared for
While a smile can straighten every curve
A frown can twist everything for sure.

Little flowers by the roadside can warm you up
The small streams can cool you
And just for a simple change in your heart
Your world can turn all new.

A simple word of praise can make
Someone's day all bright
A simple sorry can make all strains
Simply turn all right.

But a harsh word can make someone's heart
Grow all sour and cold
And you know your unspoken looks
Can bring miseries untold.

A glance at the sky captures the stars
High up in the night sky
And if you close your eyes it distances
Every relation that's nigh.

If you open up your arms wide
The world becomes your own
And if you just close them tight
Everything turns unknown.

Wisdom I have experienced both on the giving and receiving side. Very well written.

to love where there is no love is difficult but when you do you know you are growing inside.

To sing when there is hardache is binding brokenness with remedies.

To lift ones sights is the ability not to look down and be down.

I loved this as it works every time.

I took your advice, yesterday, before I read this poem. It makes for a lovely coincidence. I would suggest you hug someone you love deeply, who you are angry with! :-)

Lovely poem, and you are so right. Yet, why is it, sometimes, so hard to do the simple thing, to smile?

Carpe diem. Beauty and comfort are always there, but sometimes we have to stop and notice those things. Your poem expresses the need for human kindness and appreciating the beauty in the world very well.
