The Price
Ho! Light your signal fire!
Brighter than the sun's glare
Climb out of the abysmal mire
And return death's stare
Let way to fiery desire
Accept and meet the dare
Waste it not on pointless ire
Make ready, mount your mare
Where to go, you inquire?
Why, everywhere of course!
To the blinding birth of noon
We'll find the driving force
Yell and caper on the moon
The very pulsating source
So close, so near, so soon
We'll climb the tree of remorse
Drink the first tear of the monsoon
The contract is here, endorse!
At what dreadful price you wonder?
Does anything ever come for free?
Did you ever see evil blunder?
Ah but this one's cheap you see
A tiny lightning, a muffled thunder
Swear fealty to none but me
I will only tear it all asunder
Easy it is; down on one knee
And watch it all go under
