action or inaction
waiting can be torture

Waiting

Drip, drip, drip
constant and unrelenting
the faucet will not stop
no matter how long I wait.

Dinga, dinga, dinga, dinga, dinga
unbearable, incessant ringing
from the ice cream truck blocks away
stops only to make a sale then dinga again.

Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting
for justice to right every wrong done
but it won't come
not today or yesterday

Waiting, waiting, waiting,
for truth to be known
it wasn't known yesterday
perhaps today?

Waiting, waiting
for fairness to rule
just for today
okay?

Waiting
for a chance
at justice
truth, or fairness

I wait for the dripping and dinging
to stop,
It is torture
waiting for justice, fairness and truth

My mother used to say a watched pot never boils but in truth it does eventually, it just seems to take forever,I think your poem emphasises the point very well~Graham.

Purple Phoenix
I feel the impatience and frustration in this! Waiting can just be infuriating can't it? Liked this very much. ;-)
