Everything in this relationship was so clear. I love you enough to put up with it. It's not really as bad as people make it out to be. For the longest time I tried to look past all of the obvious points. Yet, I still love and want to be with you.
But I don't know why I was so naive
The letters on the wall were written clearly
They were there but I chose not to see
There was the "I don't love you"
Written in a deep, midnight blue
There was the "She's been in my bed"
Written in a dark, crimson red
There was the "I'd rather be with her"
Written in a dull, pale amber
Then there was the "I'm not going to stay"
Written with the blood from my veins
All of the signs were right in front of my eyes
I didn't want to read what I thought were lies
But it's all very clear now and out of disguise
I'm finally beginning to realize
There was the "I don't love you"
Written in a deep, midnight blue
There was the "She's been in my bed"
Written in a dark, crimson red
There was the "I'd rather be with her"
Written in a dull, pale amber
Then there was the "I'm not going to stay"
Written with the blood from my veins
I see the words written on the wall
And I see you for your true colors and all

Writings on the Wall
I'm trying not to take it personallyBut I don't know why I was so naive
The letters on the wall were written clearly
They were there but I chose not to see
There was the "I don't love you"
Written in a deep, midnight blue
There was the "She's been in my bed"

Then there was the "I'm not going to stay"
Written with the blood from my veins
