Street journey: allegory
Standing on the corner of a sullen street at night
Glimpsing shadows hardly moving in the calm beyond the light
Thinking to myself why am I here and what have I become
That I'm possessed wander nightly losing what I've won
Each step I take towards progress
Ends in nothing but duress
Each step i take towards progress
Ends in naught but deep distress
Closer every day I am to what I'd never dream
Each glass takes me away before my thoughts have time to scream
I'm flooded with this new minds strength brutal animalistic fire
Black fog flies down and I'm drawn under by this senseless seething ire
This man inside of me is longing
Nothing but simple belonging
Man inside of me your longing
Nothing but your pain prolonging
Waking to the dawns grey glow and watching sunrise paint the sky
Wondering what transpired last night what, in effect, am I?
So close am I to sweet sucess a drop of wine upon my lips
Of salt and iron, warm and wet, left from the nights last deadly kiss
