The fires of creativity are all a poet has, but sometimes the fire threatens to quench and then you want to put out the remaining smouldering embers in anguish…But this fire is the only fire which can light our souls...*
Never Quench the fire!
Never quench the fire,It is the fire that keeps you warm
On a cold gloomy night,
Fuels your creative juices,
When you're care-worn in life,
It is the fire that keeps burning,
Under the smouldering embers of life...
The fire of longing, yearning & desire,
That keeps our hearts alive ,
A fire that kindles within the soul,
And engulfs your being entire,
It sweeps through the jungle of life,
Like a wild fire,
When the trees of existence are dry
And the sap of life is threatening
To make you limp with ire;
It is this fire, whose amber flames
Light up your existence entire,
So keep that fire burning,
Because,
In this insane cold material world,
It is the only hope for the humanity!

*Dedication: Long time back this piece was inspired by Ben’s (Bob’s) piece of dejection: “In between (About the agony of writing, the agony of wanting to be heard, the agony of wanting to be someone.)” & written to boost his sagging morale, I dedicate it to him, one of the finest poets and my beloved, revered & awe-inspiring friend.
