Another acrostic. My collection of poems I wrote between December of 2007 and August of 2008 has now been published, and is available on-line. Its title is "Whiskey, Whimsey, & Rhymes," and you can preview it and/or buy it at AuthorHouse.com for $9.95 US,
all of us were family watching T.V. in the den;
past times long since gone now, as we've gone our separate ways;
perhaps we've been closer; yet, there's something left to say:
you are still the one that gets our thanks on this, your day.
Failure not an option when you sent us off to school,
able to split our sides when you played the zany fool;
teacher of appreciation of good wine and food;
have to say, among the dads, you were the coolest dude;
even though, of your kids, I know I am not the best;
really, I resemble you much more than all the rest;
sorry now for all the times I put you to the test.
Dad, this poem's to thank you, Sir, for all the things you've done,
and to let you know that I am still my father's son;
years from now, I'll still be working on what you've begun.
Note: My 3 siblings are all females...

To Dad
Hardly a day passes that I don't remember whenall of us were family watching T.V. in the den;
past times long since gone now, as we've gone our separate ways;
perhaps we've been closer; yet, there's something left to say:
you are still the one that gets our thanks on this, your day.

have to say, among the dads, you were the coolest dude;
even though, of your kids, I know I am not the best;
really, I resemble you much more than all the rest;
sorry now for all the times I put you to the test.
Dad, this poem's to thank you, Sir, for all the things you've done,
and to let you know that I am still my father's son;
