Moonie

Pete was a windmill,
and Keith was a kid,
but no one's ever done it
the way Keith did.

He broke the bass pedal,
he broke all the sticks;
he told rugged Roger,
"Your pony's one trick."

Then he'd run off for fun,
playing off all the drums,
until they'd become
a coherent one.

"Who's next?" he commanded;
"Who are you?" he demanded;
and in the middle of it
they went quadrophenic.

"Not to be taken away,"
the camp chair still says.
