This is an attempt to encapsulate an encounter with
the earthbound spirit of a beautiful woman in an old country house... I also wrote the music, and the entire work can be heard at:

Where You're Dancing

What's your name - why d'you wander to and fro'
With the ghost of yourself for company?
Where's your Heaven - don't you know which way to go?
Why on earth do you come haunting me
Where you're dancing?

Yeah - the mansion's splendid - can't you let it go?
Were you wronged - denied your state of grace?
Oh your sigh's full of secrets drifting through my space
Such a langour - elegance and lace
Where you're dancing....

Supernaturally you take me far astray
Can't resist I'm a ghost now anyway
Apparition seductive you drug my thought
Where we are is nowhere to resort
Where you're dancing....

Now you must let go - we're far too far away
Unbelonging to earthly night or day
In Versailles - Venice wish you sweet elsewhere -
Hope you make it home by way of prayer
Where you're dancing....

Very nicely penned, John-Charles ... elegant and evocative. I've never seen a spirit, but your reaction to your sighting is a source of inspiration.
