Dream a Little Dream With Me
When up too latedon't hesitate
to invite a dream
an innocent scheme
to bring on sleep
a trip to deep
and spiritual lands
where loving hands
will protect your mind
from scenes designed
by evil souls
with wicked coals
infused with hate
to propagate
fear and pain
which will rain
in nightmare stories
and all their glories
a torrential storm
until the morn
brings the sun
all dreaming done.
Now wide awake
for goodness sake
don't stay up late
and eat fudge cake
with vanilla bean
and chocolate ice cream
after viewing
ghouls doing
what they'll do
if they catch you.
That is why
you should apply
my advice
and think of nice
sugar and spice
more than twice
before your head
hits the bed.
Now all's been said!
